Better than Crop-A-Dile

I bought Crop-A-Dile at first because I thought it would be better and I was wrong. This setter doesn't look particularly fancy, but it sets every eyelet perfectly, with no twisted backs.

Pros
  • Gasket Kits
Cons
  • Not sure

Ideal size in Industrial Hardware

This is the first time I use such a tool. I started using grommets in April 2020. I use them on cotton canvas (12 oz). I actually punch everything in one full punch and use this tool to add the grommets myself. I was very happy with the results. This tool is small and compact but extremely durable. I am using a 4mm socket and this is rated for 3mm but it works.

Pros
  • Sockets
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Not suitable for paper, finished core gets stuck in tool

I made a paper banner out of this. I'm used to using an eyelet breaker that doesn't have that weird tube/hole in the base. The instrument itself simply has a small top and a concave base. It wasn't the same, and the sleeve would get stuck in it every time, sometimes so badly that trying to pull it off would tear the paper around the sleeve. I have to use a small pair of pliers to remove each finished bushing from the tool. Super annoying and time consuming.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Out of fashion
