cuts *very, very* poorly

The cuts are incredibly rough and uneven and this saw does not cut through material at all easily. Really amazed at how poor quality cuts.

Craftsman's Miter Saw

The Craftsman's Miter Saw is a great handheld miter saw that when attached to your workbench is ideal for precise miter cuts, especially if you don't want to damage your 10" motorized miter saw. I use my 10 inch miter saw when I need to make complex cuts.

Very easy to use: Miter Saw Accessory

I am a 75 year old widow. I wanted to buy an electric miter saw but didn't have the space for one. I used a cheap plastic miter box and had all sorts of trouble. Bought this saw and have been very happy with it so far. It was fairly easy to assemble and very pleasant to use. It's light and I can move it to where I need it. I usually use it on my kitchen table. I've included a picture of the saw and the frame I made with it. I would recommend this saw to anyone interested in an easy to use miter

For cutting up to 4 "

It took some creativity and another saw to finish the cuts for a 5 1/4" standing finish. I checked but didn't see this anywhere in the description or questions, but it appears to be made to cut things only 4 inches thick. Up to this thickness I am impressed with the article. Even sitting on the carpet, he didn't slip. I just had to find something the same height to support the other end of what I'm cutting. My dogs chewed one of the red plastic stoppers fairly quickly, but I found hex head…

Finally accurate angles!

I am old, like all the equipment in my carpentry shop, all my saws are inaccurate at any angle other than 90 degrees and it costs too much money to replace them. When I built picture frames for years, the corners were always crooked, there was a gap between the joints. I even used these yellow plastic miter boxes, but after a long time of use, the corners that needed to be cut were out of order. I chose to get this from Craftsman, it's metal and so far I've gotten accurate corner cuts for my…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Upgrades

I still use many of the Sears Craftsman tools I bought over 40 years ago. Don't let the name of this product fool you: it's a flimsy piece of "imported" junk that barely serves its purpose - nothing like the real thing. The plastic saw guides wobble and rest on four round bars, a base with square nuts that secure the bars with socket head screws. They will weaken after some use and then fall out. I soon lost three of them. Of course, these are not standard elements. Luckily I replaced them with
