I bought these chalk markers to write on some boxes with chalkboard because I didn't want to buy a big box of chalk. These are pretty! You need to follow the instructions upon opening them for the first time by shaking them and then pumping them on a piece of scrap paper to get the product to flow. Kind of like a paint pen. They work beautifully and erase well per the instructions. The picture is using silver and my writing is not good.

I wanted the look of a chalk menu board without purchasing one, so just wrote on glass and matted with black foamboard. Paint erases completely and easily from glass. I suspect some who have trouble with erasing this paint from a chalkboard are dealing with a slightly porous surface. I bought these to use with the same companies chalkboard decal wall sticker. They worked really well, AFTER I read the directions and got the ink flowing. My biggest issue with these was the packaging. The plastic packaging that they come in is worthless, and doesn't close with them in the container. I really want to love these. Some times the color is awesome, but most of the time it's dark and hard to read on my blackboard. I found the only way to get the board clean is to use a magic eraser. Then it is super easy to clean. I wanted more color in my life, but I'm finding the white chalk marker that came with my boards is the best. Maybe if I prime them everytime, I'd get brighter colors. It just doesn't pop most of the time.

My daughter loved the colors but unfortunately we only were able to test the gold marker because of the rainy weather. I ordered these so that she could decorate her car for a graduation parade and it rained on that day so we have not used them yet. When we tested the gold marker, it did take a few minutes to get the ink into the tip.

If I could give half stars, I would happily give these chalk markers 4 1/2. But since I can't, I have to bump them down two 4 versus five. Here's why:My orange marker came totally "broken." See attached picture to understand what I mean. Luckily, the liquid chalk didn't leak from the broken marker, but still, I was never able to use it. Update:After leaving a two star review, the company representative contacted me about the markers. They sent me a new set to replace my defective set. I really appreciate the fact that they are so attentive to their customers which is rare to see these days. Super easy to use. Just shake them until you start to see color in the tip. Easy to wipe off (I use it to write on chalkboard contact paper) with a wet paper towel.

some colors are very opaque, some are very thin/translucent and watery (not the vibrant color expected). some colors look exactly the same as others in the box when applied on our back lit LED glass board. some colors are virtually permanent when applied, takes alot of elbow grease and wet washing to clean the glass board. NOT A DRY ERASE SET - REQUIRES WET RAG!
