POOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT best for storage

I was trying to install a P2 500GB SSD into a Dell Inspiron 3671 desktop computer. The first problem was that the computer didn't recognize the P2 SSD. After some searching I found a way to get the computer to recognize the SSD. This time the Acronis cloning program did not recognize the SSD. I've contacted Crucial Technical Support twice with no success. Both gave me an answer. After a few more searches, I cloned my existing 128GB drive using Macrium Reflect. This time, the Crucial P2 500GB…

Works great but REALLY complicated

I wanted to upgrade the Lenovo C740-14iML and Crucial advertises them as compatible. Yes they are, but you have to do something very precise to make them work. First, forget about your cloning software. I never managed to get it to work. Also, you can't mount it in an external M2 container and plug it into a USB port. What you do is use the Windows 10 online tool Install Windows -> Create installation media, USB drive, etc. And disable BotLocker! The installation software will take over your

Very Fast: Computers and Accessories

When I was able to get 2TB for $200, I finally decided to do something. I'm migrating from a very expensive and power hungry Adaptec RAID configuration with 8 old 2.5" SSDs to Stripe 0 configuration. The thing is faster and about the size of a chewing gum. That. I found the exact same speed measurement tool and ran the same test. You can compare the results and draw your own conclusions. This was on a very early first generation 16X Threadripper with an Asus Prime X399 board. It's fast enough…

You get what you pay for

Folks, I don't write reviews unless I'm genuinely impressed or upset. You already know which way to go. You don't have to say much. We buy NVME drives for speed, pure and simple. If I needed a lot of storage, I'd pay $100 for a cool 4TB of disk stock. But before that I used a SATA SSD which was good but really became a bottleneck when gaming/multitasking. Enter Crucial 500GB NVME. Looks great on paper, right? Yes, I thought so too, and released my hard-earned cash (yes, we really don't have…

Synology DSM is not fully compatible with DS720+ 2020

A pair of these 500GB Crucial SSDs are specially designed to be used as cache drives (one read cache, one write cache) Bought for the new Synology DS 720+. I have always been satisfied with Crucial products over the past 30 years and have not hesitated to order them. They have been listed as compatible on the Crucial System Update website. I found the cost of the discs very fair. Ordering through Revain is no problem. The modules are physically very easy to install into the bottom of the DS…
