If you have AMD, be careful!

First of all, don't label the parts in the instructions. Personal annoyance, at least Ikea clearly lists all the screws needed. This cooler requires an AMD3/4 backplate. If you don't have the old one, you can't install it on the motherboard. I had to purchase a backplate from Revain and the screws that come with this cooler are so short that they don't fully tighten the backplate. Using straight screws didn't work because the screws weren't long enough yet. I ended up having to grind off a few…

Excellent hybrid cooler

The smaller fan can be a bit noisy, but it's not intrusive to me. Keeps my 3rd gen Ryzen at a comfortable temperature with little overclocking.

50% cooler with my AMD.true!

I'm writing this review on day one, about 8 hours of use. I have an AMD Phenom II x6 (1090) 3.2GHz. With the stock heatsink with handbrake, all 6 cores worked at 100%, the temperature was always between 60 and 66 degrees Celsius. Now I have increased the clock to 3.6 GHz on this Cryorig A40, and with the handbrake it runs as usual in the maximum range of 28-31 degrees Celsius. Unbelievable! I also ran Prime95 for 1 hour and 20 minutes and the temperature never went above 32 degrees! The…

AIO cooler for computers and accessories

Keeps my 9900k at around 70C when gaming, it's overclocked to 5.1Ghz so I love it. It's not completely still. I updated the fans on Nocturnal.

  • Great for a small house

Good unit. for water cooling systems

This device works quite well. and the warranty is probably the best there is. It fits in many cases where its fatter brother (A40 Extreme) doesn't, and both cases where its bigger brother (A80) doesn't. Customer service is pretty good too.

Shocked by the performance!

When I first unpacked it, I was upset to see a couple of bent fins on the heatsink. I figured there would be 4 stars or less depending on the cooling performance. I give it five stars because this cooler worked so well. withstands temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius. It was easy to install. I took out my GPU, unplugged all the cables from the motherboard, and pulled the motherboard out of the case to install it. from the body. The instructions weren't that great. The bolt packs were labeled…

AM4 ring was not included in kit

The cooler works great in my mid tower case. I'm seeing temperatures more than 5 degrees cooler than the stock Ryzen 5600X cooler. This seller did not include an AM4 ring to attach to my motherboard and wanted to charge over $10 for a replacement ring. If you contact Cryorig directly, you will receive a purchase confirmation email free of charge.

Trick? May be. Reliable cooling? Yes.

Summary: What could have been a gimmick turned out to be a nice feature for a remarkably decent AIO waterblock. I didn't intend to build my very first PC with the CRYORIG A40. In fact, I was suspicious of using the AIO given the potential for leakage and reviewers reporting loud pump noise. Unfortunately, the air cooler I wanted for my i7-6700K didn't fit my case (NZXT Phantom 410), which limited the options in my price range. That's when the CRYORIG A40 caught my attention. Relatively new to…
