This wiring system is very easy to install! When installing I found that instead of connecting the black wire to the battery, it can be connected (welded) to a 12v socket in the trunk on the passenger side. This socket has a 15A fuse (the wiring system comes with a 10A fuse) so there shouldn't be any problems with that. This saves a ton of time as you don't have to run the black wire all the way to the front of the car! PS: I have a 2017 Mazda CX5 (Grand Select)

I'll repeat what others have said, don't run the power cord to the engine bay, just unplug the accessory socket on the back passenger side. I wish CURT would update their wiring harness to include the correct connector/splice as you would have to cut/splice/solder yourself. This adapter is well made and overall fairly easy to install. Of course, unplugging the power cable from the battery is tedious, but it can be done without a hoist.
