Excellent for the money

There are more expensive branded versions of this. If you need Gucci clothes, don't let me stop you. Otherwise, if you just want a tool that gets the job done, this thing works really well and won't let you down.

  • Absolute Legend

CLC 439 Heavy Duty Hammer Holder

This is a decent hammer loop for the price. The leather appears to be of good quality so should hold up to regular use and the coated steel hinge is tilted slightly upwards to keep the hammer from moving as much as my old 90 degree straight hinge.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Works great: Power and hand tools

I like that it's cheap and light weight. Holds my hammer great, I recommend treating it with leather conditioner to soften it. It was quite difficult to attach to my belt, but now that it's on my tool belt it works like any other hammer loop. Will definitely buy it again

Great alternative to a tool belt

Love this hammer loop. You can't beat the price and it holds up so well to everyday use that it has become a permanent fixture on my belt. Ideal for storing all of my carpenter's and mason's hammers. The perfect addition to my life as I always need a hammer and don't like wearing tool belts.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Only available in black

Where I hang my hammer

This is where I hang my hammer or gavel. or a hoe or a hatchet or something. Due to the limited number of times I've used this in the garden I'm sure it will work great in the wild.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • The Secret

How can you even beat the price?

The price is unbeatable. You can't even buy a piece of skin for that. It works great and the belt loops are big enough for even a big tackle. However, the skin it comes in was bone dry. If you want the leather to look darker and more distinctive for your bags, you can soak it in any type of oil. As it soaks in oil, it darkens.

Cons
  • Little things

great for a regular hammer

I bought this for a small sledgehammer and while it definitely does the job I'm not sure it will last with all the weight. True, it probably wasn't designed with the expectation that you could stick something other than an ordinary hammer inside, but still. If you want to take something other than a small sled, this should be more than enough for your purposes.

  • Heavy duty

Well made, large capacity

This hammer holder has quite a large capacity - I can't think of a hammer you'd want to carry on your belt that doesn't fit in a large metal loop. in addition to a leather tool pouch (also from Custom Leathercraft). There is a small hammer loop on the tool pouch, but it is tight for a finishing hammer and too small for a frame hammer. Hence the external hammer holder. Luckily the two vertical slots in the leather backing of this hammer holster were big enough for me to (barely) push through…

  • Price
Cons
  • Almost never
