Great network card for the price!

I have a motherboard with a built in NIC that has failed and I have spent many hours fixing it. In the end, tired of wasted hours and inconclusive results, I decided to buy this card since I have an empty expansion slot. After uninstalling the original network software and drivers, I then installed the software that came with the D-Link network card. First turn off the computer and unplug the power supply, then insert the D-Link card into the expansion slot and then reboot. Windows XP…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Weak kit

saved the day. in network cards

My onboard LAN failed and I needed a cheap adapter, STAT! I ordered this with 2 day delivery and sweated a day without internet. I did it quickly, read the quick install, disabled the onboard board, inserted the CD, shut down, installed the card, rebooted and XP did the rest. I rebooted (probably to no avail, but no harm or foul) and my 2-wire modem came alive again. Hot! The best price and the best equipment, what more could you ask for. Damn it helps me writing this review now and I think it…

Light! Electronics are the best in computer components

I ordered this because my computer couldn't find my router (virus damage, I had to completely reinstall XP) so I concluded that my ethernet connection was a bit was damaged. 2 days later I received the goods. I installed the drivers, turned off the power, then installed the card and connected my line. Simple and it solved my problem. Luckily I used to back up my computers to a backup drive so all my files stayed intact before the virus. I use it at home so can't rate it for business, but I'm…

Seems to be working fine.

I ordered this when I was still solving my problem with the cable modem disconnecting during a boot, thinking it was my built in network card that was starting to go bad. Turns out it wasn't NICs or routers, it was the original cable splitter I got from my cable company that had failed and was causing all the dropouts. I still use it in addition to my built in network adapter and it seems to have worked great so far and I haven't had any issues with it. Install drivers quickly and very easily…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Works great with my setup

The network component on my old Intel MB processor was not supported in Windows 2008 Server R2. I ordered this card so I can use MB with Windows Server 2008 R2. That works great. The card is recognized during installation and the driver is loaded automatically. I later upgraded to Windows Server 2012 and the card works fine with that version of the server product as well. Easy to install and no need to mess with the installation CD.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Approximately

Absolutely Greeeat!

Okay, I don't say that often. But in fact, this network adapter is great. I'm a PC/network specialist and I use this card on new and old Win PCs as well as RedHat, Mandrake and SUSE Linux. All Nix distributions recognize it without additional drivers. If you want to compile it into a kernel, get the driver from Dlink and have it, but it's not necessary. This network adapter works great on every operating system I've used it on. This is a great card for ADSL and works great with SpeadStream DSL…

  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Old reliable for computer components

I have used this card on several different computers and it works simply and well. Windows usually finds the driver without any extra work. I'm now using the faster DGE-530T for new computers, but it's still a great card for older computers or any non-gigabit network.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I have to assume I've installed at least 25 of these cards over the past few years to replace failed built-in NICs. I haven't received a single rejection yet. Installation is simple and straightforward (turn off computer, install/replace network card, turn on computer, insert CD and let Windows do the rest). I can replace the old card and get the user back online in about 5 minutes. You can't go wrong with this simple network card.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
