Tried to use it on wash hoses. After tightening the hose fitting with this mesh, I tightened the other end. The first tightened end has jumped out and the fitting is now loose. The rubber part has slipped into the middle of the hose. Luckily I didn't turn on the water. I removed the screens.

I couldn't find the part number for this washing machine on the Sun Joe website. This is just one of the few replacement parts that I can order directly from them. I ordered it on a whim hoping it would fit and it fits perfectly. These washers tend to pop out over time when using a pressure washer so the fact that it comes with 2 for such a low price is great.

I received this product after debris clogged a device that measures water in a washing machine tub. I fixed it myself for $60 and then installed this and a better water filter. But when I notice a slight change in water flow, I disconnect the water hose from the bracket and I do find the minerals my filter lets through, but luckily this little cheap strainer caught it.

There are 4 small plastic tabs on the outside of the washing machine. I think they should hold the washer in the tension nut threads. I found it difficult to install the washer with the grommets installed and had to use a wrench to tighten the nut. It's still leaked. When I took it off, the washer was badly crooked. Luckily I ordered a second set. I used a pair of wire cutters to remove the tabs and the washer fits snugly into the nut. Hand tightening was sufficient - no pliers needed.

These protect my washing machine inlet valve from the deposits and scale that inevitably makes its way into my water. They are best placed at the end of a shut off valve on a wall so they are easily accessible for the occasional cleaning. The instructions show how to install the protruding mesh in the washing machine hose. This might work with a garden hose, but the screen will deform if you push the hose down in that direction.
