REPLACEMENT TOILET HINGES: Design allows a customer to relocate fresh holes in new locations when their old holes have stripped out, without having to replace their seat. DIMENSIONS: Center-to-center spacing of holes on each branch of hinge = 0.75โ€, Screw hole diameters = 0.156โ€ for #8-32 screw (predrilled holes should be 0.136โ€ or #29 drill bit) - Length from under head to tip of metal screws = 0.625โ€, bolt lengths for hinges to bowl = 2โ€, lid hinge pivot hole center to screw holes = 1.71โ€. ALL INSTALL PARTS INCLUDED: When installed in hinges, screws will penetrate to a depth of about 0.5โ€. Any seat/lid thinner than that and the screws will punch through - ANY TOILET SEAT/LID THINNER THAN THAT WILL NOT ALLOW SCREWS TO PUNCH THROUGH. RELIABLE & DURABLE CONSTRUCTION: Plastic construction for toilet seat hinges has a reliable and durable construction that will endure the rigors of everyday use. WHITE FINISH: The white finish matches most existing toilet lid and replaces most white finished toilet hinges.

Poor instructions

The instructions and illustrations provided are terrible. Even though I messed it up the first time, that doesn't mean you have to assemble the hinges before putting them on the seat and cover. Otherwise you cannot wear them. It also doesn't show the order in which the hinges are placed on the dowel section. In the end, the screw holes didn't line up perfectly with the lid, and then the holes for the base didn't match my existing holes. Most likely the seat/cover/bracket is in the wrongโ€ฆ

Flexible, adjustable, but delicate. UPDATE: Changed Gentle to Flimsy but still useful

Update โ€“ Lost another star. The holes in the mounting lugs are horizontal to the mounting axis and not vertical, allowing you to change the position of the seat and/or cover. The wooden seat I bought from Lowes to replace the plastic "Builder Special" was slightly off-center, ending up with a seat about 1/4 inch off center - just enough for the seat lugs up could slide to the edge of the bowl and lower the seat slightly at the most inconvenient times. I was able to move the screws enough toโ€ฆ

Cheap flimsy plastic that requires some tricks to install

For some reason these are the only replacement hinges I can find both online and in stores. It must be some kind of crazy prank on the PRC's part to disappoint the Americans as they look like they'll fit, but they're unlikely to come out of the box. There are no instructions so give yourself a few hours as you won't be able to properly assemble the parts. first time. In order for them to fit properly and be fully tightened, you will need to drill a new hole or holes and may need an impactโ€ฆ
