I agree with the other reviewer that this product only requires a strap to work. I used packing tape to fix mine except it's a cheap tube. If you're planning on using it for long-term storage or just a few times a year, that might be fine. I use mine almost weekly but the build quality just isn't up to par and I'm planning on replacing it with something better. Overall it's not nearly as good, but I wasn't expecting much for $10. If it was $20 I would feel ripped off.

I put my rod in and tested it on the plane. I sealed the lid with tape to ensure it doesn't tear during flight on the plane. I went to Alaska and used my poke. I packed my poke back up and flew home. Bought last minute for the New Orleans conference. After purchase I was a little worried as some reviews mentioned that the tube didn't hold up well when adjusted and some reviewers even mentioned having to use duct tape to secure it! But here's my two cents: If your poster is at a longer scale (closer to the maximum tube length), I'd recommend buying something longer.
