Works as it should. Fits 1999 1.9 tdi no problem. I went through the top by removing the power steering pump and had a hard time getting it out but no problem. It took longer to extract the old one than this one. Will update if there are problems but looks like a quality product would buy again if needed.

Generator didn't work at all. After it was installed, it destroyed the car's battery and battery posts. By the time we installed it and realized what it had done to the car, it was too late to turn back. I would be happy if we could get a refund for the product, especially since we had to replace other parts as well!

Purchased alternator for 2004 Volkswagen 1.8T GTI. The alternator worked great for the first 2 weeks and failed without warning, draining the battery. This happened 2 days before the 30 day return policy, but I reported it 1 day late on the manufacturer's product support tab and haven't had a response since. Would not recommend this product.

Perfect fit! This beetle was included in the tdi 2000, "cool" to change, YouTube helped a lot! But the VW man put a massive alternator in the cars! The battery in my car was barely alive, I had to plug in a small 10A charger for hours to get it started, but after starting this new alternator at 120A instead of a dead 90A it's like one too new battery!

I ordered this for my golf and when it arrived look at the pictures some junk. I was tempted to return it but decided to just go ahead and see if it really was broken. Installed, works great, lights don't dim anymore and everything, charges well, no noise, just looks like I took it from another car. If the plastic hadn't cracked, shifted or the bolt wasn't bent I would have given it 5 stars without question.

The clutch on my original 90 amp alternator failed and instead of spending $50 on a new clutch and triple square to replace (includes removal and vise use and - impact) I figured at 150,000 miles I should just change everything so I don't have to worry about it later. This 120 amp easily fits in the same spot as the 90 amp and is very easy to replace. Less than 30 minutes with tensioner and belt installed. I checked it with my voltmeter, it puts out 14 amps as it should, at all RPM ranges.

Value for money not good. Wanted to test it because it's absolute crap from the manufacturer themselves. Just buy a real one or get a DOA block or it will fail within a few months as other reviewers have mentioned. And of course you have to wait a while to get the money back on your card. So if you need an alternator somewhere in time to get your car running again, you are SOL and your car stands still for more 5-7. days. AVOID THESE BRANDS.

Bought this for our 2003 Jetta TDI. When we bought the pulled out the old one, we found that it was significantly larger than the original. The original was 90 amps. This is a 120 amp unit. It was quite difficult to get the old one out, raising concerns about installing this larger one. We got it and it works great and was a nice upgrade.
