Worked but I think mine is bad

It's been about 3 weeks now and it looks like the bearings are failing making a weird ticking noise. In addition, it begins to heat up, like burning your hand. One time I'm overloaded and the other time I'm under-loaded. I'm not sure what's going on there, but I know bearings should never fail that quickly

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • unreliable

Battery light is back on

I have a red battery light, the battery is only a year old. I ran some tests and they showed that the generator was not working well. So I ordered this generator, installed it and the red light went out, everything was fine. Now, less than a month later, the red light is on again! I will run some tests to make sure this alternator is defective and if so I will have to return it.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Fair

What has this generator done to my family!

Alternator failed 4 days after purchase. Went out while having my whole family in my Yukon 07. The battery died while driving on the freeway here in LA and we know how dangerous that is. I bought another one from Autozone and it works great. This generator was tested in Autozone and failed within 3 minutes of testing. So I would not recommend buying this generator.

Pros
  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • Generally ok but...

Failed in 6 months

Installed as expected. Six months later the truck does not work, jump, charge battery, check if the battery is dead when the truck is off. Check the parasitic load and see that it is. Spent a day trying to figure out what it could be, finally shut down the generator and no more parasitic load. The test and the diodes failed. Warranty return policy is a heavy burden, removing and replacing parts is another burden, faulty parts are not a sign of quality equipment. Better eat $100+/- and buy…

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Blank

2010 Chevy Silverado - fits and works great (145A)

direct replacement as advertised By the way, this is my third purchase from DB Electrical. Replaced my starter and alternative with a 2006 Nissan Frontier and they worked great for over 2 years. When my dad's alto player started playing his 2010 Chevy (52,000 miles), I recommended a DB Electrical product as a replacement. Its default alt will trigger randomly, symptoms will be the voltage sensor will drop to 9v while driving, key off/on restart and it stayed at 14.2 a few times when the voltage

Doesn't load properly.

The product looked great, it came well packed out of the box, it looked very nice. It was very easy to install. At first there were no problems. until a few weeks later. This car is not driven every day so the problem could have been caught earlier. Once, on my way to work, I noticed that the charge was 11.8 volts while driving on the Autobahn! Everything is fine before work, I left at noon. no-go My generator has stopped charging. I replaced it with a block from a local supplier and now I have
