Works but a bit cheap design

I used this on a 14-2 straight wire. It works, but when I tried to screw the pad on I figured it would help to squeeze the wires inside so they were tight. Technically it does what I want, but if I kept plugging and unplugging it I'd be afraid the case would fall apart and pose an electrical hazard.

I have an extension I want to install. The cable should only be 3 feet long. So my choice was to splice the wire, open the strip and remove the cable at that end, or swap the connector. I opened the tape and there was a strain relief taped to it, so I couldn't shorten the cable. I figured replacing the connector was better than splicing and shrinking the cable. You might think that since you're trained in repairing complex electrical circuits and the various electrical relays that operate the "brain" or computer that powers or controls an electric wheelchair, that you can easily decipher how to fix simple wires connects. plug like this plug. You might also think that it would be common sense or politeness to…
