Dell AS501 Speaker Ultrasharp Monitors Review

They did exactly what I wanted - adequate sound for listening to podcasts on my very small desk in a very small room without wart wall . I paid around $50 for it, which I think is a bit high, but the sound is decent (not amazing - don't expect an audiophile experience, but exceeded my expectations). The fact that they can be powered from a USB port on my PC is very convenient and they are small with no aggressive branding.

The speakers have a terribly muffled sound. I started using them around June 12, 2020 and was disappointed. I couldn't use the speakers before because I had to order an adapter for them. Was disappointed because no adapter was included. You will need to purchase an adapter for these speakers, which can be costly. Adapters cost about $10 or more. When I received the adapters and tried the speakers, the return window was closed.

I used them on a cheap speaker in the Arcade (Raspberry PI) Project case. But they are loud enough and have a decent sound quality. It's 12v which the PI doesn't normally provide so you will need a 12v adapter (not included) or I used a 5v and 12v arcade power supply, a pc power supply will also work for both . A few scratches/dents and dents but I hid them anyway.

The AS501's sound quality is better than the AX510. I bought two used AS501s from Front Source Technologies for the price of a new AX510. One came with broken clips on the back so it wouldn't connect to my Dell monitor, but other than that it worked.
