Sealed Waterproof Delphi Metri-Pack 280 Series 2-Way Connector Set for 10-12 AWG Review

This connector type is imo's gold standard. Arrived neatly packaged complete with only dielectric grease and a pair of pliers needed for final installation. Quality connectors always look good and keep you cool.

I bought them a while ago. I finally got around to installing them for my saddlebag cables. These are 10 gauge speaker wire. I think I installed the pins upside down, but they closed completely and looked fine. The time will show. I will update.

Connector not shaped correctly. I only had to use one side of the connector to connect to my car's factory wiring harness, which already had a Metri Pack 280 connector plugged into it. whereby the fastening projections could not collapse.

One of the hard blue plastic cable locks did not fit and was physically different from the other. I contacted the seller to explain and asked him to send me another lock so I could finish the tourniquet. They asked questions but didn't send me the part I needed so I had to buy a second one at full price. This level of customer service cannot be expected from Revain or anyone else. Why does the seller refuse to refund the defective part?

This is a complex piece with tight gaps, so test fit as part of prep. Use a crimping tool to bend the ears on the pins to crimp them onto the wire. The wire insulation on my 10ga solar panel was too thick so I had to cut off the blue plastic holders. I used some silicone to fill the entire area around the base of the wire to keep moisture out. The final connection was tight and I had to use maximum force to make it click. But as long as it's waterproof, it's worth it.

This product was purchased with a one-step crimping tool which the vendor associated with this connector. The reality is that the video and one-step crimping tool can only be used with smaller crimp connectors. I had to return both connectors and the one step crimp tool to Revain. I decided to keep both single step crimping tools and try to get the connectors to work without a crimping tool. I failed and couldn't complete the wiring and connector termination without the proper crimping tool.
