it works - easy to install

had the P420 check engine light on for about the last year - finally managed to get the exhaust down between the engine and muffler flange. I bought this O2 sensor with a new cat (screw included). It took me 3 hours to get everything ready. An extra pair of hands to install the new build would have been nice. but - I recommend that you attempt the repair yourself as the local shop quoted me $1300.

Excellent replacement part.

Lower O2 Sensor. It's a good idea to spray WD or Liquid Wrench on your existing O2 sensor, let it sit for a few minutes, start the car and let it run for a few minutes to heat up the pipe. I tightened a crescent wrench on the O2 sensor nut and it came loose. Pull the mat on the passenger side up along the center console, disconnect the sensor and remove the rubber boot from the floor. The new O2 sensor comes with threaded anti-seize compound and a new rubber bottom boot.

Fits my 2003 Corolla perfectly

My Corolla failed state inspection due to O2 sensor failure. Since the test didn't show which of the two was the problem, I swapped out the top and bottom sensors and it passed the test with no issues. I told the inspector how much I paid for both at Revain and he couldn't believe how little I paid. I highly recommend ordering a dedicated removal tool as well. With this, I didn't have to remove the heat shield to access the top sensor.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Long delivery time

If you need it, buy it. You will not regret this purchase.

I can't believe how great this product is. The exact same part at my local dealership was almost double the price. If you order from a mechanic, the price is almost triple. It only took fifteen minutes to change this part, turn off my check engine light and take my car back from 16mpg to 34mpg. Make sure you have an O2 socket as regular sockets will not work. I was able to use a temporary outlet from my local lot and had the part replaced at their lot. If your old sensor has frozen/stuck, you…

My error code P0420 has been fixed. At least for now.

I bought this as a potentially quick and MUCH cheaper fix to the dreaded P0420 code on a 2003 Toyota Corolla with about 128,000 miles on it. I've heard many differing opinions as to how often replacing this oxygen sensor will actually fix the problem. I figured if I ended up replacing the CAT I'd be replacing the oxygen sensors anyway, so what the heck. Why not try the cheapest part first? I've now driven about 250 miles and checked the condition of the catalytic converter system with my code…

P0420 Check Engine Light Code

I have a 2003 Corolla LE and have had many issues over the years with the P0420 Catalyst system performance below the bank 1 threshold code and after it came out recently I have it bought trying to fix it. I replaced the oxygen sensor with another one from Amazon (sold by TheBigDeals) a few days before purchasing which has not gotten rid of the check engine light or code. I did a little more research and found that it might be because I had to use an OEM sensor. This OEM Denso sensor worked and
