Denso 234-9123 Oxygen Sensor: Reliable Air and Fuel Ratio Monitoring Device Review

Good news, fits 2006 Forester 2.5 2006. Some other reviewers have said that replacing the front O2 sensor can improve fuel economy and that they "wear out". Well after 6 months I can report absolutely no change in fuel economy, handling or fuel trim. The original seemed good even after 140,000 miles. So I really didn't have to spend $70.

I believe someone else had the same problem with the 2007 Outback but for some reason the connector is for the sensor does not match the original and does not fit. Strangely, the plug's outer shell is the same, but the insides are different. I ended up connecting the wires to the old connector and it works fine, but I feel like it's an odd oversight. More trouble than anything. In the attached picture, the left black connector is the original and the right white connector is the product.

We replaced both the 02 sensors and catalytic converter in our 2008 Subaru Outback in March 2019. Summer. In December 2019 we received code P0420 again. When they got him to read the code he said the oxygen sensor is left bank 1. For 100.00 I definitely hope to get more than 9 months. Direct replacement for 2006 Impreza (and many other models and years). The first let air through the stem right out of the box. Revain accepted the return with no problems. A Few Installation Tips: Getting the old one out is the hardest part. There they are often strongly baked. Removing the headers isn't too difficult. A perfect match for my 2006 Forester X. The parts are exactly the same as the OEM, right down to the terminal, connector and even the color of the insulator. Supplied complete with anti-seize lubricant. On some cars you can use a 7/8" or 22mm open-end wrench, but the '06 Forester just didn't have enough room to apply the torque required to loosen it.
