I believe someone else had the same problem with the 2007 Outback but for some reason the connector is for the sensor does not match the original and does not fit. Strangely, the plug's outer shell is the same, but the insides are different. I ended up connecting the wires to the old connector and it works fine, but I feel like it's an odd oversight. More trouble than anything. In the attached picture, the left black connector is the original and the right white connector is the product.
