The part used for modeling is easy to handle but does not allow for a good fit as it is a hard plastic. There are instructions but if you follow them you will never get the right protection. I understand they have to say put them under cold water because people will complain if they get burned, but if you do, the guard won't go moldy in your mouth. I see that most complaints about this protection are due to poor fit. You really have to be careful to follow the instructions exactly. After dunking it in boiling water for 45 seconds, you swirl it for literally a second before putting it in your mouth in front of a mirror and biting into it. Then hold for 2 minutes and you're done.
