🔧 Derale DER16796 Pulse Modulation Fan Controller Review

My second has no bueno and no hip time. Please don't buy if you don't want to give your money away. I'll replace it with one from AutoCoolGuy.

The controller worked properly for a few months. The sensors themselves failed a couple of times. I had to replace it. Depends on what you're looking for and how you're going to use it.

Warning! The instructions warn you not to touch the "closed terminals". except all the nuts on the clamps were very loose and there was no loctite on the threads. Apparently this is why my warranty has expired, I called to report it and the tech didn't care.

After the factory pump he removed the radiator, fan and clutch, alternator and all belts, installed all new reduced diameter aluminum pulleys9, aluminum radiator and this controller. It looked like it had been used, with tool marks on the temperature control and the missing plug. Setup is simple, as it should be, moving the sensor closer to the hottest spot on top of the radiator. the instructions say it at the bottom but doesn't respond as quickly to higher temps, went with a 190* thermostat…

I bought a Derale fan kit which contained two 11" fans and a PWM fan controller. I installed a fan kit and it worked fine for a little over a year. About 13 months later (out of warranty) the fan controller just died. I went to church one night and the fans were working fine.
