Restoring some old tables, mostly what others have tried first and ruined. The table I'm working on now has at least 4 old coats with some kind of finish, some of the stains are almost just tacky. This is the removal of all of these layers with little effect on the wood. Good for striptease.

This item was a little pricey for a consumable but I'm glad I chose it because it works well and withstands the punishment I put it through. I used it to tidy up the concave shapes on the stair railing that I made out of red oak. It looks like it's enough for this whole project and a few more.

I got tired of hand sanding the finger grooves on the maple stair rails I was working on. I bought this paddle wheel to speed up the removal of an old stain. I definitely got rid of the old stain, but it scratched the wood so badly that I still have to go back and hand sand to try and get a reasonably smooth finish again. One step forward and two steps back.

The product description says 10 pieces in the package. It is not true. The wheel itself is of high quality and very beautiful. However, when I asked customer service why I only received one, they told me to ignore the description. Ignore the description. As it has not changed yet I cannot give this product more than 1 star until the advert accurately reflects the product.

Haven't used any of these before so I'm not deducting points for sturdiness. But if you're like me, don't underestimate hardness and instead measure the area you want to grind. You won't have much opportunity to push or otherwise deform the wheel to complete your task. For example, if the bore is 3 inches, I would choose a 1.5 inch wheel.
