I thought Dewalt would be a good choice. My first mistake was buying 3 packs. Second, I thought Dewalt was a good choice. It doesn't hold the bit, so it keeps getting stuck in the screw head. The shaft detaches, turning it into the pathetic propeller mount I was trying to avoid. Somehow, Bosch makes the long-shank bit holder work. Shouldn't have switched.

This product will do what you want it to do. However, the 1/4 hex that goes into the striking tool doesn't connect well to the rest of the guide. This means that a few hammer blows will break the guide in two. They can be connected by hand, but gravity will pull them apart again if you tilt the drill down to hook it on your belt.

I love the Dewalt magnetic bit holder. I always have it in the gut of the screw and can change the bits from end caps to square or cross bits. I don't have to loosen the ring, just pull the bit out and insert a new bit into the end of the tip holder. The best part is that it helps prevent untwisting. If I'm trying to drive a long screw into a really hard surface, I just slide the sleeve over the screw and it acts like a tunnel and holds the screw up until the screw is fully seated in the work.…
