Just started drilling 3rd hole when bit/tap broke. 1/4" x 20. On 1/ 4" aluminum cracked and wasn't even halfway when it happened. Return it and get a replacement. We'll see what happens.
They work great. For the people who said they're broken or broken, you can't use them with a drill, they have to be used with a percussion gun. When used with a percussion gun, they're better than sliced bread.
A great addition to your tool bag. I recommend proceeding slowly and deliberately. Use cutting oil when you have it to extend the life of your drill bit. Also, if a colleague needs to thread a custom cap we made locally, don't let someone who's never threaded before use them. . I used it again and again as a drill and broke it in the workpiece :(
