Great idea. This is the only collar that has kept my 6 month old Labrador from bucking. However, the two pieces being joined continue to fall apart. She fell off my dog and I had to run to catch her. Maybe this is defective. If not then I wouldn't recommend it.

Great collar for training! The 80-pound pup took three adjustments to get it right. Our 11 year old can walk in it with no problem. The dog is not injured and cannot detach the collar. The strong metal clasp with double D-rings for wire connection is great. Very durable so far. Came with everything you need to make it work for you. Highly recommended!

I like the metal buckle and how it connects and disconnects. You also have to put on the small rubber tips that slide over the metal pins and they are included in the scope of delivery. There is also an additional link to make it a little larger if needed. Got a size large for my 68 lb husky and didn't have to use a link. Actually I would have to remove the link as it might be a bit loose.

I have had two different collars in the past. One traditional and one with a bar. I am 62 years old and have had difficulty closing the buckles on a traditional collar and have experience with the buckle coming loose. This collar works great! I have much more control over the martingale collar. My 50 lb Pittsky gets along well at dog school, pulls hard when she sees puppies. She likes to hang herself on the traditional choke collar and the harnesses seem to awaken the sled dog in her. It was just impossible to get the kids to take her for a walk without a scratching post. This collar is good but it doesn't work as well as a traditional full chain collar which gives more traction when chasing a rabbit or chipmunk. Dangerous Not recommended We've only used the collar a couple of times and it broke completely tonight. The "tactical" clip broke on the inside on one side so although it appeared clipped it was able to slip out with a little effort from my terrified 90 lb dog. The collar was bought specifically for his training. He's not trained yet. 2 blocks from home at night is not the best place to hunt a large, fast, untrained dog.
