Works with Baofeng UV-5R Antenna

When I first started amateur radio, like many others, I took Baofeng. I've used it in my car with a magnetic antenna with a BNC adapter, but to make it less of a nuisance on foot I attached a whip antenna to it for quick detaching from the car and connecting to the BNC radio. In practice, this isn't the prettiest solution, but it works well. I have now added a mobile phone to the car and simply attached the antenna directly to the Baofeng.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • No Instructions

Nice little adapter.

I use this along with a BNC adapter on my radio to allow for quick antenna changes so all my antennas can be used on all my radios. I always convert my radios to BNC.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Free mounting on BNC side. I was not surprised by the price

They fit very loosely on the BNC side. They just flutter around on the Alinco DJ-580. Twist lock is very weak. Although the radio's locking pins may be worn, any of the standard Alinco and Diamond BNC antennas still snap securely into the radio. However, using any length SMA antenna with these adapters will result in a very loose fit with little locking. I could probably shake the radio so hard that the adapter would just fall off. I don't have much money for it, but it's a pity that good/great

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No insurance

Could use better quality control.

One of the 2 pieces is defective - the small section of the channel was too small, so the BNC plug fitted, but is not blocked. So I'm sending them back and ordering a new set. I hope to get 2 good/useful ones from this purchase/return/reorder. I'm sure they make 10 batches out of 1000 and maybe I just got a bad one.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • I'll write later

Works great but a little long

This little part seems to work well with my Ailunce Ham Radio handheld radio. This simplifies changing antennas. As far as I know the threads on the screw are only enough for so many uses. Using it saves threads and the need to replace them. Fast and easy to use. No problem. Didn't notice any performance degradation. Recommended. Note. This small element extends the length of your antenna. At first I didn't like the way he looked, but I was starting to get used to it. See image.

Pros
  • BNC to SMA RF Coax Adapter for Ham Radio, Baofeng Radio, Walkie Talkie etc.
Cons
  • Not sure

Just adjust your antenna with it!

Purchased to adapt my Nagoya antennas to easily detach from my Baofeng radio. So far it's working as advertised and I can't see any loss of signal. Make the antenna a little higher and you lose the partial gasket that comes from the factory or Nagoya if they were bolted directly to the radio. I can live with that as I can easily change the antenna. I will be buying more than spares but after a few months of use I don't see them failing anytime soon. unless someone develops a more compact…

Pros
  • Package Contents: 2 x SMA Male to Male BNC Adapters
Cons
  • Big and bulky
