Need a replacement and I went for this little guy, good little wand, pretty fast and same length as the probe. The downside is the small display (it's better to have good vision or reading glasses!), and to be honest, for an old man like me with big hands, the buttons are awfully small. But overall a pretty good wand for the money.

We bought two of these for a science fair project. After spending a lot of time using them, we switched to one from my daughter's school. I couldn't believe how much faster her school measured the exact pace. The ones we bought will never reach zero no matter how long we leave the water in the freezer.

I mainly use it to make yogurt, which I do twice a week. The last 3 times heating milk to 180 degrees it never happened. This thermometer kept going up to 171 degrees and back down to 167 degrees, to the point where the milk got stuck in the pan and ruined the great taste of my yogurt. The 4 little buttons are labeled, but (if you need reading glasses, and most of us by the age of 45 need them), you'll need them to see which button is which.
