Beautiful pattern. This is NOT for beginners, but the template is very clear and easy to read. The thread is separate and well organized. I don't like the backing I chose, so I'll probably use a different fabric.

Don't be fooled by the tranquil scene, this is definitely advanced cross stitch. Take your time and focus. The pattern is beautiful, and even more so in the embroidery. The effect with gold thread and pearls is beautiful. Someone will have a good Christmas this year when they get this one. The only thing missing is an accompanying embellishment to make it perfect, but I think I'll settle for a gold thread that accentuates this stocking perfectly.

This stocking is good and the set is well organized. I think it's good that the thread comes pre-sorted. The colors are bold and the fabric is dense. This is a long project, but not particularly difficult - there is very little floss and only a cross, half cross and backstitch are included in the pattern. I modified the drawing with quarter and three-quarter stitches to smooth out the lines a bit. The only problem I had was that the plan has three parts and it's not clear where they intersect…

I'm an advanced cross stitcher so these instructions didn't pose a problem, but I would make sure to keep track of the thread counts and whether it's a full cross stitch or half stitch. This gives the stocking an incredible texture and an almost velvety feel that sets a stunning picture from the start. The artist of this stocking is to be commended. This was my first cross stitch and it turned out well; The design was easy to follow and I had provided more than enough thread for each color. Two big cons: First, the back felt was terrible and didn't live up to the quality of the finished design. I went to a fabric store and bought batting and fabric for the inside and back instead. I have done many dimension cross stitches over the past 18 years and this Christmas stocking has been the worst for me to work with. As many other reviews have noted, many colors are missing to complete the project. I had to email the company 4 times. This stocking is ridiculously detailed! It may take me a full year or more to sew this beast but in the end it will be a masterpiece that I will probably regret not being able to frame rather than leaving the house for 1 month a year! I love that it's realistic, natural looking and realistic like all stockings in the Gold collection that aren't cartoonish. I chose this stocking for my unborn child because it is unisex. I like that there are animals, snow and a church in the background. No gifts
