Disposable candles are best in Spare Parts

They are cheaply made. I can't imagine using them more than once. Be careful not to overtighten them though as I have a feeling the threads will break. But that's why there are 5 of them in one box. I would use them once and then throw them away. Keep the original factory plug just in case.

Oil leaks after use

When it comes to working with my car, I have OCD. I bought these to replace the drain plug and washer at every oil change. I put the drain plug back on and it leaks a little, but it still leaks. I think the screws are ok but I think the washers are bad. It doesn't seem to do the "crush" part for compaction.

Exact replacement. for engine parts

Worked great for me. It appears to be exactly the same as the part I replaced. Along with some oil and know-how, you'll save a lot of money. $90 at the dealer, about $40 at home for an oil change. This and you can do quality control. It's scary that traders can ruin something so simple, but they can. VW recommends replacing this screw at every 3rd oil change. At this price, that's not a problem. I would even suggest doing every other oil change.

I must have been very tired when I ordered this because I saw the '5 pack' in the title overlooked. I ordered 4 "units" now I have 20. I can change the drain plug on my Jetta every 10,000 miles for the next 8 years. But in any case, the plugs themselves work fine, no leaks or anything. Warning, this is a steel plug that fits into an aluminum drain pan. The threads on the drain pan will snap long before either of these plugs snap. Hand tighten the screw in the pan and then turn it no more than…

Non-original crush disk design - causes leaks

As mentioned, crush disks are made of steel, like the plugs themselves, and therefore do not 'squeeze' onto the plugs with the correct torque. Not only that, the washers are not removable, so I had to cut them off to use the correct *ALUMINUM (soft)* washers. To make matters worse, the pans are soft and you never want to turn a drain plug anyway, so these plugs don't work as intended. Plugs don't need to be replaced with every oil change, just washers, so I only had to cut two steel washers to…

You are leaking. in Oil drain plugs

I tried these drain plugs on my 2001 Audi TT with 1.8 AMU engine. They look good, just like the original, with one exception. The washer on it is steel, like the bolt. The Original Equipment drain plug has an aluminum washer so when tightened it slightly compresses the washer and creates a seal. However, because the washers are steel, they won't crush and the cork won't leak. Mine managed to drain a full quart of oil in the thousand or so miles I had in the engine and it made quite a mess. I…
