I tried these drain plugs on my 2001 Audi TT with 1.8 AMU engine. They look good, just like the original, with one exception. The washer on it is steel, like the bolt. The Original Equipment drain plug has an aluminum washer so when tightened it slightly compresses the washer and creates a seal. However, because the washers are steel, they won't crush and the cork won't leak. Mine managed to drain a full quart of oil in the thousand or so miles I had in the engine and it made quite a mess. I thought about adding a crush washer but since they have a loose washer there will still be leakage. if the washer cannot also seal the threads. It just won't work. I ended up tossing them in the parts bin, bought a standard drain plug and used copper washers with it. Install a new washer every time you change the oil and you're done. If you want to go this route, use a standard M14x1.5 20mm drain plug. Save money and buy something else. You'll be leaking, and you'll be changing the oil again soon just to get a better drain plug. So skip it and just buy the best drain plug.
