Best of New for Transfer Case Components

Significant savings over a local parts dealer and a Dorman product of the same quality. Restored an SUV for my neighbor's Trailblazer. I don't think it ever shifted that well, even when it was new.

Transfer Case Shift Motor GM 4wd

2003 trailblazer v8/auto. 4WD service light on. Reset it a few times and every time I used the 4x4 the light came on and it stayed in 4WD Hi mode. I removed the servo motor and checked that it really worked at full speed and it did. I moved the shifter shaft manually with no problems so I replaced that servo motor and had no problems for a few hundred miles on a couple of 4WD applications. I will update in a few months.

Excellent purchase! 100% satisfied with

My first order led to marriage. Revain was amazing and gave me a replacement the next day! Installation also takes about 20 minutes, including dismantling the defective part. Works great and is brand new, not a refurbished part. Now my automatic and manual 4WD works as expected. I decided to purchase the Revain as the exact same part costs $300 plus base fee locally. I couldn't get one from Chevrolet, other brands are inferior. Two years ago this was not easily accessible. At $160 with a 2-year

Great for 2002 Chevy Trailblazer

Problem: Trailblazer stuck at 4low. TCCM and front-wheel drive were fine. I looked at the transfer case motor. Disconnected the old transfer case motor but left it connected. I set it to 2hi and saw that the transfer case motor wasn't spinning. Disassembled it and found the bolts holding the very first 4 cogs/gears were broken - hence no rotation. Solution: Replace the transfer case motor: start the engine, put it in neutral, set the parking brake, rotate the splines to match the new gearโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • No Power

2005 Trailblazer Replacement

I purchased this part to replace a failed OEM transfer case encoder motor on my 2005 Trailblazer. The OEM transfer case motor successfully shifted to 2HI and A4WD but would not engage when 4HI or 4LO was selected. The swap only took about 20-30 minutes with a 13mm head and an extension. I used a jack and a couple of jacks to raise the TB for easy access to the transfer case motor location, but a couple of ramps would work just as well. This is probably one of the easiest DIY projects I've made.

Pros
  • Fair Performance
Cons
  • Modern

Great replacement. Just not very much

I bought this to replace the transfer case motor on my 2006 Envoy XL. I think the problem with my original motor was actually the encoder (included with the motor but replaced separately). My symptoms were that every time I went from 2 wheel up and then back again, the next time I started the car the transfer case selector said I was in neutral when actually it wasn't. Also, I've noticed that if I put the transfer case in neutral and then raise the rear end and spin the tires, I hear a grinding

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Repair
