Dorman 79540 Driver Side Inside Door Handle Replacement

Fits well on my 2005 Wrangler with half doors. As mentioned in other reviews, the "lock" script is on the wrong side. When you press the word "lock" you actually open the door. The kit includes rod clamps so you don't have to buy them separately.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Better and stronger than the OEM part

Had trouble opening both doors through the key lock and also from the inside in my Jeep TJ. Couldn't figure out what the problem is. She ended up replacing my faded OEM interior door handles when one broke and in fact she took care of the lock issue on both doors on my Jeep TJ. Easy to install, great quality and now my TJ doors open/close and close very easily. A+++

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Fits and works great! Although a complaint.

This fits my 03 TJ perfectly. It wasn't too difficult to install. I just unclipped the door panel from below and was able to squeeze my hand to grab the latch bar and opener bar. Luckily I wasn't too cold-blooded when I was a kid in Operation! Connecting the bars didn't take long. I only have one complaint. The word "LOCK" is printed on the back of the button. In the first photo in this review it is in the closed position. The second picture is open. Otherwise great value for money.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Exchange possible

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE best in Trim

Very easy to break, body cracked while digging in so I replaced the body with an old one as only part of the handle was actually broken. After I mounted the new grip on the old case, it worked for exactly one day until the grip broke in two. I was better off with a fake grip I did with a screw. **UPDATE** I recently purchased a new lever from Crown's 4Wheel Parts direct from the store. Well made and not cheap. The plastic of the crown and the way it is made is better. I can tell this by…

That's still going on.

The repair is a bit trickier than it sounds as you have to place all the connecting rods in the door EXACTLY as they were on the old part or it won't work. I had to remove the plastic door panel. The pull handle feels a bit thinner/flexible than the old one, but so far after a few months it's holding up. The only thing that annoys me a bit is that after installation, when I wiped the dust off a brand new part with a dry cloth, about half of the white "LOCK" lettering was immediately removed…

Quality handle and great price from stock Revain

To ensure a quality product on this door handle. It's very well made and the clips are the strongest I've seen since trying pens from two other brands. The spring is strong and quickly returns the handle to its original position and at the same time there is a strong 'pop' which is reassuring as the last time I broke it after just 3 days of normal use of the handle. I was able to install this without removing the door panel but I have long thin fingers and I also used needle nose pliers and a…

but not great. Looks cheap

Works, but not very well. Looks cheap and is cheap. The white color in the inscription "Castle" did not even survive the installation. It's almost half gone and the pen looks like it's 10 years old. The dimensions appear to be the same as my 1999 Jeep TJ OEM knobs, but a few things are different. The handle locked the door every time the door was closed. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the linkage that connects to the metal bar "lock" in the door is a bit longer. This forced the lock

Cons
  • Some disadvantages

Works perfectly. First remove the door panel.

Like many others, the driver's door latch on my '99 TJ broke at the keyscrew, so it popped out every time I pulled the handle. I installed this to fix it. I have to say to anyone who thinks about it: it becomes twice as easy or twice as difficult if you remove the entire door panel first. This gives you much more room to fit the bars into the lock and latch connections. If you try to replace it with the plate still in place, you won't have room to disconnect or reconnect the rods behind it…
