DORMAN 912-006 Hood, Hatch and Tailgate Release Cable - Efficient and Stylish Black Option Review

Don't believe good reviews. I bought it for my 2001 Cherokee Sport Jeep and it broke within a month and I had to pay over $400 to get into the hood and replace the hood latch cable. Worse than junk, it will cost you a lot more money later.

A+ for seller, very fast processing and delivery, will buy from there again. However, this cable is garbage. I gave 2 stars because it more or less works but the quality is very poor. The cable looks a lot cheaper than the original cable and the metal grommet on the cable is too narrow to sit properly in the locking mechanism. NOT for 1999 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.7L as advertised. It pops the hood in an emergency and only works correctly in that regard, but doesn't even come close to the under-dash style of my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.7L 4x4 mount. I was able to get it to work, but the grip was literally dangling under the dash by the cable itself and only one screw. The pattern with the three screw holes on the handle and the three screw holes under the dash doesn't even remotely match. I wish I could take photos…
