Dorman 924 532 Sun Visor Repair Review

Oh my god! Let's start with the fact that you can't assemble this without a professional tool to compress the spring while trying to blindly slide the lock nut onto the shaft to secure it. That's why they give you 4 locking nuts, after you cripple them and you have to resort to some kind of tape to hold the last semi-functional nut together and bang it in with a 2lb hammer it works fine! I hope I never have to take it off again! But at least these are the right parts for the job!

I struggled with the first one but then I read one of the other reviewers' comments on the installation. I tried using a vise and tried to press the retaining clip against the sight bar. What works best is to put the actual metal rod from the visor in a vise. I left out the washer and just used the locking clip. This thing is great. My factory unit broke and I figured I'd have to replace both until I found this. That is VERY clear. Just follow the instructions and don't breathe through your mouth and you'll be fine. I added a thin layer of lube and it works better than before. Unfortunately, instead of five stars, it only deserves one star because the product does not work as advertised. First, the portion of the sun visor stem that goes into the mount narrows and does not fit deep enough into the mount for the compression nut to compress the spring.
