Worthless Sharpening Tool

This product is a complete waste of money. The chain sharpening is uneven, and it did more harm than good to my chainsaw .The only good thing about this product is that it falls under the category of Industrial and Scientific, but that's about it. Don't waste your money on this product, its better to take your chainsaw to a professional..

Pros
  • falls under Industrial and Scientific
Cons

Instructions are useless and conflicting - impossible to follow

I used this product to sharpen a STIHL chainsaw. The product itself isn't bad (nor great) but the instructions are utter nonsense and if you follow them the saw will work poorly or not at all. The written instructions specifically state (in both step 2 and step 4) that the guide should lie flat against the "tooth". These steps refer to Figure 5 and Figure 6. In Figure 5, the guide is lying flat on the tooth. In Figure 6, the guide never rests on any tooth, it rests on the chain's "depth gauge".

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other pickaxes
