dremel grout remover

For removing grout from floor tiles. Works great, just let the dremel do its job. The project was great. I love Dremel products.

Pros
  • Ideal for replacing grout on walls and floors, or removing grout to replace broken tiles
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Fits only 2 feet or less

Purchased to remove a 4X4 grid of floor tile needed to cut 6 feet of grout. Walked less than 3 feet and doesn't cut. It's terrible to call it a grout removal tool unless the description says to buy a bit for every 2 feet of grout. Turned a one day project into a two day adventure with the purchase of the required additional tools. I'm just glad I got almost $10 as an add-on instead of full price.

Pros
  • Guides 180 degrees apart to keep drill centered
Cons
  • I will add later

Not suitable for grouting hard floors

I was removing some old tile from the bathroom floor and the grout was very hard. My first attempt was with a hand grout remover. No luck, I would dull the blade by removing less than 6 inches of joint compound. My second thought was my Dremel. Gave this racquet around 10 minutes of use before giving up. Less than an inch away. The only reason I didn't downgrade it to 1 star is that it might work for softer grout or wall tile. Just note that this is not suitable for grouting hard floor tiles…

Pros
  • Removes grout 3/8" below surface
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Great grout remover

This is a great grout remover but you have to be patient and careful. Be careful as the product works so well that if you slip you will puncture the tile. lol. I have made! Also, this product must be used with a black guide cap that will keep the carbide cutter at the correct angle. I blushed and used it hands-free, broke the racquet within 15 minutes and had to order a new one. never mind My fault for not following those annoying instructions. your dremel! I'll try to post a video of removing…

Pros
  • Removes grout 3/8" below the surface
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Has a great niche target!

I'm removing old grout from a stone tiled shower floor. Not because it's crumbling, but because I'm tired of mold growing there. Let's face it, cement based grout is porous, even with sealant, so I replaced the old grout with epoxy. Laticrete, purchased here at Revain.com, is 100% waterproof and available in a variety of colors. (Tip: Order a color chart from Laticrete, you cannot trust the colors displayed on the screen of an electronic device). Your grout line is a little thicker than 1/8…

Pros
  • 30 degree angle for controlled cutting
Cons
  • Slightly torn
