I wish I had looked for her 25 years ago!

Didn't realize this was all it took to spruce up my very old Dremel. Luckily I kept the dead Dremel even though it was broken, mainly to reuse parts later, but I just didn't have time to take it apart and make sure it was a simple part. Have boxed Bosch branded parts and works like a charm and is better/smoother than the smaller branded replacement I bought for use decades ago. Including some closer photos of parts and disassembly for reference.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, everything is fine

Perfect Repair - Power Tool Spares

I have an old Dremel tool that no longer works so I decided to take it apart to see if it can be fixed. I noticed that the linkage fork had deteriorated and was torn inside the case. I found a parts breakdown, identified the exact part number and saw that Revain offered 5 packs of collars so I ordered it. Upon arrival I immediately replaced the broken yoke, reassembled the dremel and it works perfectly. I now have backups in case the plastic collar breaks from heat, wear or whatever.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Product fits more than just model 395

YES! THIS FITS DREMEL MODEL 420. This item is known as a coupler. They are supplied in packs of 5 and must be replaced when using this range of Dremel tools. Replacement is quick and easy, don't think your tool is broken! If your tool's motor is running but the collet head is not spinning, unplug the tool from the power source, remove the screwdriver, and open the tool. If you see a few small pieces of chewed plastic, you need this part as a replacement. It connects or couples the motor to the…

VERY bad design! for power tool parts and accessories

This was the second pack of 5 DREMEL driveshaft couplers I had to order! I use my multi-tool all the time for many purposes, mainly for slicing, drum sanding, and edging soft pine boards. I try very, very hard NOT to apply TOO much pressure when sanding craft wood, but IF the 1/2" sandpaper drum splinters (tears easily), rapid, excessive pressure will snap or break the plastic/rubber shaft joints! VERY POOR CONSTRUCTION! I HAVE TO THROW THIS "DREMEL MULTI TOOL" IN THE Trash, maybe I could use…

They work on any Dremel.

I had no idea this little plastic coupler even existed at Dremel. Also, I think they're probably meant to give the Dremel a bit of flexibility so it doesn't stress the rest of the tool when it comes into contact with hard material. The tool comes apart easily, you'll be surprised that Dremel included 4 bearings (which is why they work so well) and you can see where the old clutch has discolored and fallen apart. That's enough for the installation. ; you have the most problems with the wave…

Didn't know I needed it until the original broke

I did some sanding a few days ago and the wheel stalled but the motor ran fine but there was some weird noise. I unplugged the dremel, opened it up and saw that the problem was the flex coupler, which was made up of lots of tiny parts, although I'm pretty gentle with it (the tool is at least 15 years old!). I searched, found a pack of 5 on Revain and ordered them. The replacement was relatively easy and the Dremel was ready to use again. The rest of the clutches should last me quite a while…

Mine had to be trimmed 1/8 inch, no big deal.

I'm an old hand at replacing these connectors on my decades old Dremel tool. I ordered a batch of 5 plugs and was surprised to find each one individually packaged in a sealed Bosch plastic bag. Yes, other reviewers are right, these connectors tend to yellow in storage. I had a 10+ year old (new) yellowed replacement muff that I was trying to use. It broke into pieces. Hence the new order. I've finally found a problem with my particular Dremel. I noticed that the new Revain clutch was about 1/8"
