Great cable but get the right terminations

I highly recommend purchasing tool-less CAT7 ends for this cable. Other than that, getting the alignment right was a very bad experience. Great product, great cable.

Pros
  • It's OK!
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Well made and well protected

Although the Cat7 is slightly larger than the Cat5 or Cat6 it was surprisingly easy to fish a long stretch of underground channel with some fairly tight 90 degree turns. It is well made and the shielding is excellent. It's a bit more expensive compared to Cat6, but you can see why when you compare the two types side-by-side.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not the best

Wall Mount Category 7: Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Bought to wall mount in every room of my house except bathrooms. It is easy to work with and appears to be very durable. Wand CMR rating is not listed on the jacket but is on the packaging. Kept the box in case I got in trouble with the electrical tester. The diameter is larger than Cat6 cable. Coils 1 and 1/2 are used for tapping into the wall. Most likely, some of the rest are used for jumpers from wall keystones to devices.

Pros
  • Feels Good
Cons
  • Boring Packaging

Good but not like the pictures!

I liked the quick delivery. The twisted pairs have been individually well shielded and are of the caliber advertised. The outer shielding leaves something to be desired and does not match the photo provided. The roll says LDPE direct burial and the packaging says CMR is internally rated. I was expecting the outer shield to look like the picture, similar to a high quality RG6 level shield with no gaping space. No outer film, just twisted pair film.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Null

Why are all the white wires white?!?

Basically a great cable, ran through our new office without any problems. Solid conductor is very easy to process. The only problem I have is that the white wires are all white, they are not striped or otherwise marked with the corresponding twisted pair. This isn't a problem when terminating in an assembly like a patch panel because I can unwrap the wires as I punch them, but it's annoying when terminating with a modular plug because all the wires have to be twisted open to close themโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Inconvenient
