And then I saw it's not recommended for computer controlled cars

I bought it without reading the comments so when it arrived I opened it up and taped it to my car's metal plate. He's stuck. And then I saw that it's not recommended for computer controlled machines. I took it off (not that it wanted to come off) because I'm paranoid about tech. However, it sticks like a champ and I have no doubt that if I have the courage to try it will work great.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • A bit torn

Works great: quilting

I've actually used this quite a bit and it does what it says on the tin. There's just something about it I don't like. If I don't get the needles into the fabric in a way that follows this guideline, I'm in trouble, not big, but a hassle. I also find it inconvenient when it is positioned and then can slip. Until I find a better solution I will continue to use it. But for me it's not ideal.

Pros
  • Not recommended for computerized sewing machines
Cons
  • So far so good

Too bad the cars still came with these!

I remember my mother's old Singer had a screw-in seam guide and most machines of the day had one. Somehow that doesn't seem to be standard anymore. Anyway, I was fed up with uneven seams and wanted something that was inexpensive and would work with my machine (a fairly basic 8 year old Kenmore). That is exactly what is needed. What I like is that the magnet is strong so it doesn't move while sewing. Although it's durable, you can move it to another location, meaning it pulls up easily if you…

Pros
  • Used for sewing straight seams, pleats and non-marking pleats
Cons
  • Requires rosette

Flexible placement on the bobbin plate

I ordered this magnetic seam guide for a couple of obvious reasons: to help me line up my fabrics better, especially when hemming. My sewing machines are not on my serger or coverstitch. The metal plates on these machines just aren't wide enough. I was hoping to use it on a cover stitch for a hem but love having it on my sewing machine. Basically, as you will see in the video I made, you can place it almost anywhere on the spool. quite far. away from the needle and very close to the foot. You…

Pros
  • Adjusts to any position on the metal neck of the sewing machine
Cons
  • Crumpled wrapping
