Don't worry, good for amps

System noise eliminated There are 2 wires coming out of the suppressor There are no instructions on what they are for or where they go Don't waste your money

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Static from the start, now it's garbage!

Installed this one, looking for a cheaper option. I've used a DS18 amp in the past with no real problems but from the start it had static all over my system, now after a few months the 2 channel pre outs are dead and going on and off. So I deleted everything and currently don't have a stereo until I order a new one. Or the DS18 replaces that crappy EQ with something that isn't garbage. DO NOT BUY!

Recommended for subwoofer noise.

Great product. A pair or subwoofers driven by a cheap Boss amp I had installed had a lot of oscillator noise. It even made noises every time the door was opened, the AC turned on, etc. I grounded it perfectly, but it turned out that the problem somehow came from my non-original Pioneer, and yet it was grounded in the wiring harness. The RCAs were of good quality and never interfered with the power supply. This product is ideal for subwoofers as it suppresses high frequency noise without…

Not bad, but adds an insane amount of white.

Not bad, but your system gets an insane amount of white noise. You have to turn the amp's EQ and gain down so it's only slightly annoying. However, it adds volume to the sound of the music. Update: I've been using this equalizer for a few months now. I bought a DS18 XM6LD High/Low Pass 6-Way Active Crossover and I have to say they are a perfect match. This means I had to turn the gain down more than I wanted to with the EQ alone to get rid of the system hiss. However, when I added the…

not worth your money.

Uses lm324 amplifier, not recommended for audio due to internal design. Claims in the manual "On-board 30 volt bipolar switching power supply" are not accurate, it uses a standard 12 volt voltage divider circuit. "out to 7 volts" in the manual specs and "5 volt RCA" on the box, this is not possible with 2x/6dB internal gain and a standard 2.1 volt RCA input. And a real flaw. There is NO amplification at the subwoofer output. In the manual it says that the subwoofer is only present on the rear…

It's not worth it.

The product works as intended. The biggest problem I have with this crossover is the line driver and the "max" crap. I have a DD1 and this unit WILL introduce distortion before any of your "maximized" lights light up even a bit. I measured the block distortion through my amp using DD1. Gain is set to minimum. As I said, on a test audio track of -10dB 40Hz on my main Alpine unit, this unit introduces distortion before even a faint glow of any of the Max lights. Well, with that being said, it…
