The 3-inch model's range is shorter than advertised.

This would be an OK product if it worked as advertised but it doesn't. The range of the 3 inch model is advertised as 3 9/16 inches but as you can see in the photo it is closer to 2 9/16 inches. I needed about 3 inches of reach to grab the bearing and it wasn't enough for my application. As mentioned by others, bent jaws can damage seals. Not bad. It could have been better with some investment

So. It did the job I bought it for. They haven't broken either, but I always use a good molybdenum lube to thread and protect the tips of any pullers I use. My biggest complaint is the tip saver design. It's not removable or lubricated, it doesn't cover the end of the threaded rod, and it's not very long. So if you're using it on a pre-drilled shaft to pivot between centers, you'll need to find a flat piece of steel to keep pushing. . For that I gave 1 star. Also, the 4" shaft wobbles a little…

Works well - puller

I have a 4" big enough to take this fan (from the AC condenser) off the motor. I thought it was stuck pretty tight but (after spraying some oil on it and letting it sit) it just popped off like that. If you don't know what these things do, here's what they do: three claws pull (on the fan, bearing, etc.) while the central threaded axle pushes (on the axle that the fan sits on, etc.). just put the axes against each other, maneuver your claws around the object you want to remove and turn the axis
