I have a 4" big enough to take this fan (from the AC condenser) off the motor. I thought it was stuck pretty tight but (after spraying some oil on it and letting it sit) it just popped off like that. If you don't know what these things do, here's what they do: three claws pull (on the fan, bearing, etc.) while the central threaded axle pushes (on the axle that the fan sits on, etc.). just put the axes against each other, maneuver your claws around the object you want to remove and turn the axis with a wrench.Easy, but in most cases there just isn't any other tool that can do this. Most of us need this one Tool only a handful of times in her life but in this case it saved me from buying another fan blade - so that's a $70 savings I like this model, it's heavy and feels solid, it folds easily screw that Krall en have little friction, which makes maneuvering easy enough. A good thing.
