🌿 Eco-Friendly Van Gogh Dog Collar by DutchDog Amsterdam Review

This collar is exactly as pictured. My dog looks so beautiful in the collar and the plastic clip is very strong. It's been over a year and the collar still holds up on weekly hikes and nature trips.

Amazing! I put this collar on a dog and suddenly I became an artist. All the moods and feelings around us changed, as if Van Gogh was really nearby. Our discussions (that's right, mine and the dogs) have become intellectually complex. The colors are brighter and it's more fun to drive around town. I can't wait to embark on one of these Mary Poppin's chalk sidewalk adventures!

I bought the "Starry Night" collar for my two year old Labrador, a tough little maniac who loves dirty puddles. We go to the dog park almost every day and it gets DIRTY. This collar has held up incredibly well, longer than other "hard" collars we've tried. Also, he has a talent that is important to me as an interior designer/lab mom. Well designed and well made. I highly recommend!

This collar looks great on my dog and fits perfectly. I love the design because it goes so well with her fur. However, since the clasp is made of cheap plastic, it broke within the first week of owning the collar. I can still lock it up now, but I don't expect it to last very long. When it runs out I buy a new one at the pet store to test and feel for myself. I will not order new ones.

I was disappointed that I had to return this collar. It was as beautiful as the photo in the ad. Read a few reviews before you buy. Some of them mentioned that the stitching on the inside of the collar is very tight and sharp and could potentially hurt the dog. When mine arrived I checked the stitching before putting it on. I ran my finger across it and found the seam was very tight, so sharp I sent it back without even trying it on.

I have a new rescue dog that has no manners that I am still working with. It works for small repairs, but if he pulls really hard and suddenly, the collar will open (no damage) and the dog will be free. So that doesn't work for me. Now I can do it myself (a 55-year-old woman, she trains). The first time I thought it was an odd coincidence. I think this is a poor design as the ring is next to the clasp and not on the other side of the ring where there would be more traction distribution around…

I bought a "Van Gogh Sunflowers" collar for my red coonhound Daisy. She has yet to wear a red poppy collar but loves the softness and width of Van Gogh's sunflowers. Both collars are well made. I love the fact that they are made from recycled material and are durable. The buckle is strong, easy to open and close, the collar is adjustable. Daisy seems to be more comfortable with these collars as they are actually much softer. I would love to buy more products from this company and hope they have

I love this collar from Starry Night! I agree with some of the previous reviewers that the inside stitched edge has very sharp corners. It is worth ordering and keeping the collar as it is easy to repair. Simply cut off 2 sharp corners with cuticle scissors, then buff the edges with a nail file. This is the inside of the collar so you won't see any jagged edges, and it goes a long way to softening this area so it doesn't irritate your pup. The collar is very well made and I love its design. I liked this collar but nothing more. The sharp corners of the nylon where it attaches to the inside of the collar caused my dog a quarter sized oozing sore on the neck (front of the neck). It started as a minor annoyance and escalated to a huge, infected lump on his neck. Trying to understand where the wound came from, I felt the inside of the collar and noticed that the corners of the nylon are very sharp and protruding. This collar is delightful, well made and as advertised made from a much softer material. My dog was delighted to receive something in the mail just for her and seems to be enjoying the new collar very much. It matches her coat as she is a RedBone Coonhound. The large buckle is easy to open and close and is very strong. The extra large and strong metal hook for the leash is great - it's much easier to hook the leash on when walking.
