The robust housing is difficult to close on large cables.

Case with cables 2/0 and 4/0 is difficult to close. You need strong bonds. There are tie grooves but they are not included and have no instructions.

Pros
  • One-year trial version
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Must purchase if splicing large wires

Great kit, I was worried the gel was 'once and done' but I was able to close and open the kit several times and the gel disappeared shut 100% back to normal to fit it perfectly before permanently closing it with the zip ties. My RV/RV had a bad way of connecting the battery cable to the main connector so I cut everything out, upgraded the cables and connected everything to this system! Now better than the original

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great for BMW X5 E53! Buy now!

Good solid connection, right size for the BMW battery cable. The ends of the plastic case appear solid at first glance, but they're cut into strips that form a shape around the wire, which helps keep dust out. also has a sticky gel inside that wraps around the metal joint giving it more protection and insulation. I used it to install a new terminal on the positive terminal of my wife's X5 battery and have peace of mind thanks to the large protective cover. All in all absolutely recommendable!

Quality connector

This connector kit saved me a lot of time and money. The 200 amp 4-0 aluminum power line was damaged and eventually corroded. Running a new cable would have taken a full day, but this connection was a quick and easy fix. The 4-0 aluminum wire threads easily into the connection and the hex head screws secure it securely. Gel-filled lid provides a watertight, corrosion-resistant seal. The only difficulty was snapping the gel box shut. A few zip ties and tape took care of that.

Very easy to use but needs a better clamp

I needed this to troubleshoot my underground power line to my house as the wires were cut due to subsidence. It was very easy to connect my lines and connect them together. The only problem I had was trying to hold the gel box together so I just used some zip ties and then wrapped the whole thing with the rubberized tape I had. Everything was buried back under the ground a few days ago, and so far so good. The house has full power again and no problems. Worked great!

Pros
  • Clamps
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Frustrating installation

These joints looked great from the start, protective covers filled with sticky gel to protect the joint. You strip the wires, plug them into the connector and tighten the set screws. Then you wrap the connection with a protective cap, which should ensure that the connection is waterproof. To close the lid, use large pliers as instructed and squeeze the ends of the lid until the lid snaps into place. However, when I pressed the lid, it buckled and I could never close it. After trying for thirtyโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Discontinued

Great plug, fits up the ass well

Unfortunately it turned out I hired a lousy electrician 2 years ago. The other day I had no electricity at all in my workshop. I knew the electrician had an underground box so I dug it up. All the connectors fell apart and the 4/0 aluminum cable corroded. The electrician did not use waterproof plugs and did not use the correct gaskets on the box. Luckily the cable had a lot of excess length. I cut the cable so that it shows no signs of corrosion and made connections using Easy Splice connectors

Pros
  • Wiring and connector
Cons
  • Big and chunky
