
These joints looked great from the start, protective covers filled with sticky gel to protect the joint. You strip the wires, plug them into the connector and tighten the set screws. Then you wrap the connection with a protective cap, which should ensure that the connection is waterproof. To close the lid, use large pliers as instructed and squeeze the ends of the lid until the lid snaps into place. However, when I pressed the lid, it buckled and I could never close it. After trying for thirty minutes, I finally gave up and used a different type of connection.
