Need a 2.5 amp 12v or larger Power adapter to get full 3.5 HDD speed

SSD functions at maximum speed. TB3 port immediately detected the device when it was attached and removed it when eject device was selected. Quality of build appears to be extremely good at this price point.USB-C and a 12V port were the main reasons for buying this product. With a usb-c to usb-a adapter it can be used on any USB3, 4, x2 etc, or TB3/TB4 port.To get full speed from a 3.5 inch drive it is necessary to use a 2.5 Amp 12 Volt adapter. I used a 2.0 amp and got very good speeds but 2.5

Get the model with the power adapter included

The description for this device is really unclear. The device does work, but if you want to use it with hard disks, you're going to need an additional power supply. At the price, I'm ok with that, but the product description should clearly state that.

  • Needed a power supply to be able to use with PC hard drive but none worked with this attachment.
Cons
  • The SNANSHI SATA to USB C Adapter may not work with all hard drives and SSD models, limiting its usefulness for those with older or less common devices

Extra Speed with This!

The same SSD is 9.8% faster with USB-C using this adapter than a USB-A 3.1. Making it one of the fastest performances I've observed.

Decent adapter - my new review

Zero complaints. Works great with SSDs. Haven't run into anything where I needed an external adapter, but it's great to have the option. On par with USB-C enclosures, even beating some that I've used, but no substitute for a proper USB-C drive. Not that I expected it to be. It's great to have on hand for data recovery. Would recommend.
