Cheap junk - replacement parts

During installation one of the wires fell out of the socket so I decided to check how well the other wires were crimped in the sockets. Pulled out with minimal effort. I can't believe they didn't crimp them properly. It takes a few seconds to make sure it's done right. My guess is that they didn't use the correct crimping tool. In any case: hands off this cheap set. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Trial year
Cons
  • Nothing here

Attention: spare parts

I just changed because of the old one when I bought the car, the fastening tab broke off and it just hung, but still worked. I put on a new one and started splicing the wires and the new tab came loose with no real effect on it. So if you install the wire splice before installation and don't pull the tab either during or after installation, it will slow down. I then replaced it with one with a steel mounting tab with no problems.

Pros
  • This is madness
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Year of manufacture works great

I used this relay to start a 38 year old Yanmar diesel engine on my boat. The starter solenoid draws enough current to turn on and the old starter switch has some resistance. The old starter switch now powers this relay which can provide full power to the starter solenoid. It doesn't start for long, so I don't know what will be in the application for continuous use. The design seems good, the wiring is fine.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Useless functions

No quality issues. I used theses to supply 30 amps to the circuit. I have 4 identical circuits so I only needed 8 relays; 4 for positive and 4 for negative. I must have full power and ground isolation when not in use. Very easy to solder and use. They supply 12v at 30 amps x 4 circuits or 120 amps total. Works very well. These repeats can be physically interlocked so they can be easily connected together. Note. The relay coils each draw about 150mA.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Secret

Don't buy junk sockets

Tried two different orders. All 4 individual relays are not fully installed in their intended slots. There was a gap of approximately 0.125" between the socket and the base of the relay, resulting in all of the pins being slightly exposed and barely inserted into the blade terminals. Forcibly inserting the relay into the socket pushed the wires out of the sockets. Wires from the socket, they are fully connected to the blade of the relay. To connect the 80A relay via the pin connector, it must…

Pros
  • Great for a small house

  • I don't remember but there was something

Used this relay to replace a GM HVAC OEM relay

Used this relay as a replacement HVAC fan motor relay when the GM OEM failed. This is due to the small contact area on the male connectors and contactors of the standard relay. Both were bent, corroded and out of service due to the high currents from constant use of the AC system used here in the Deep South. Be sure to check the OEM connectors in the system (under the dashboard on the passenger side) for sources of error. It has been found that OEM connectors are too small (contact areas) to…
