🔌 DB Electrical 400-52073 Alternator: High-Quality Replacement for 3.4L Toyota 4Runner & Tundra Ppickup Truck (Years 1999-2004) Review

Installed on Toyota 4Runner 2000 to replace the factory original. Fits perfectly. The generator is well made and almost identical in design and construction to the original product. However, this alternator is brand new and not a remanufactured Toyota product.

Fits an OEM part on a 2001 SR5 4-Runner. I was able to do this in an hour by watching a few videos online. No problem, no abnormal noises 👍. Update 4/2020: After a few months, the very soft whine reappeared. Don't know what happened? Life is hectic these days with the COVID-19 pandemic, I don't have time to check my car. let's wait.

This alternator was a perfect match for my 1999 4Runner Limited V6. It was an easy install, but it took me a long time to turn wrenches. It was the perfect replacement for the original GHE alternator which lasted 22 years. It was cheaper than local auto parts stores. It's new, not renovated. If I get another 100,000 miles from it, I'll be happy. Was considering changing the belt but changed it a couple of years ago and everything was fine. I wish you success.

Perfect fit. Installing was easier than removing the old one. The stock is no longer noisy and the new stock spec sheet says 80 amps at idle and 115 amps at 6000 rpm. I'm not sure how the alternators are rated but as I can see it's 80 amps and this one has 115! The only issue I had was that the stud that attaches the main battery cable was slightly higher than it came from the factory. This makes putting on the plastic cap very difficult. Selling car parts for 20 years. I became an auto parts guru. Matching the generator numbers to the remanufactured parts on offer can be a PITA royalty. Of course, there's a lot of interchangeability. Doesn't fit my truck according to Revane. However, through alternative research, I found that all of this generation Toyota 3.4L in Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner use the same frame alternator and wire connections. As you can see from the photos, all the major specs are identical to my '97 Taco alternator (even down to the wire harness connection point on the heat shield).
