Worked according to plan: parts

Worked according to plan. Ease of installation. It took about 35 minutes. The battery is recharged. A million dollars saved in parts and labor.

Pros

Cons
  • The list is long.

Perfect fit for 2003 Expedition 5.4L

Plug and play, great product, perfect replacement and lightning fast shipping. I was able to install this generator in 15 minutes (not counting the time I spent watching the YouTube manual).

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Was damaged

UPDATED REVIEW - Replacement Parts

Costs over $150 less than what is sold in auto parts stores and is not reconditioned. Works great and there is nothing to replace. UPDATE 23.08. IS DEAD. Barely lasted a year. This is rubbish, do yourself a favor and spend your money on a good one.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Almost OK

Reasonable replacement for a bad starter

Between the starter and the alternator, I always seem to swap out one thing or the other on my wife's expedition. It looks like he's actually eating them. I've gone through them all and this is the last. So far, so good. It fits snugly and loads the system as it should.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Poor manual

Works great and easy to install

I don't mind changing the alternators on our Ford 4.6L. Even with a disorganized toolbox, I managed to do it in just over 25 minutes. The generator itself was in perfect condition and got here in less than 20 hours. This is the second one I'm ordering, but not for this car. I put one on my Mustang and it's still working almost 2 years later.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons

100% fit and quality

I bought this for my 2004 Ford Expedition when the original OEM car alternator decided it stopped working. Don't let the low price fool you, this is a 100% quality alternator and comparable OE quality. A generator like this can cost over $200 at your local auto parts store, which is 1/4 the price on Amazon. Great deal, fast delivery, no problem. Order this part and forget it!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, REPLACEMENT SHIPPING

Upgrade A few months later the output voltage has dropped and is about to swap out for the original part. It's been fine for a few months. Hardly output more than 13 volts without full exhaust, factory Ford 13.9 with full exhaust. It fits well at a good price but definitely not up to my standards. The full utilization with factory replacement is now 14.3 volts again. Should have just bought genuine OEM parts.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and longevity from testers
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Excellent value for money (59.79 when I bought it in 2018).

Update 04/28/2021 After 3 years still no problems with my Expedition 04 xlt. Seeing it for $104 now, it did me a lot in 2018. I have no complaints. Updated 11/17/2020. It's still going strong and when I bought it the price was 59.75. I would recommend it. Update - I wanted to do a 3 month follow up on my review. The generator is still running perfectly. I will buy it again if I need another one in the future. It fits my 2004 Ford Expedition Perfecook which took me less than 15 minutes to…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No instructions

So far a reliable product at a very competitive price.

Just installed on a 2004 Ford Expedition 5.4L. Easy enough DIY for that fat and lazy geek in 100+ weather conditions (actual sweat). Right now the voltage is 14.22v and is not a problem with aggressive driving (to make sure the belt or alternative doesn't snap before I pass it to the GF) with burning AC and blaring music. I'll update my review if things change, but so far it looks like a solid product and a very aggressive price ($200 for a refurbished alt on AutoZ and $240 for a new one)…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Quality
