The bad taste reviews must have been written too soon. After installation the water tastes like rotten fish, back to SNL Bassomatic. But after spilling about 3 gallons it now tastes great. It's a lot more expensive than regular cartridges ($50 for one vs $30 for 3) but I had to return three different cartridges because they didn't quite fit my Electrolux.

This filter seems to work! We have used this model filter in our fridge for all of our drinking water for the past 7 years. The water tastes good and hopefully removes contaminants as advertised. Be sure to rinse it with plenty of water until it is no longer cloudy after installation. (about 2 gallons), otherwise the flavor will decrease slightly. Once clear, that's fine. This item comes with minimal packaging (was in a box but is now boxed). When I installed it, there were splashes and splashes of water everywhere. I didn't have that when I bought it in the store. The filtration system in my Electrolux is amazing. I change the filter regularly and I can say that this is the tastiest water from the fridge that I have tasted. I should add that I now filter my water twice for drinking and for making coffee. I use a Britta Krug (second time filtering chilled water) with Electrolux water. I have purchased a few of these filters and they have always worked well. But something is wrong with the last one. After about 10-15 gallons of water has been poured through this thing, the water is still as cloudy as when it was originally flushed. Our tap water is clear and clean.
